2010 Wilson Daniels Merlot Tasting

Name: Wilson Daniels Merlot
Varietal: Merlot
Region: Central Coast California
Country: United States
Year: 2010
Price: $7.95

Vintage Cellar's Review:
“Made predominantly from Paso Robles grapes, the wine is fullbodied and silky yet robust, with aromas of black cherry and plum and a palate of blackberry, raspberry and blueberry jam laced with vanilla and toast.”

My Review:
Explosive aroma with hints of plums, berries and spices. The body didn’t have nearly as much of a plum/berry flavor as I expected, and was more spicy with a tobacco/oaky finish. Overall, medium body, solid amount of tannins and the wine finishes hot and dry. A bit of a let down on the flat finish.

Tasted without food.
